Looking for a new spot to grab dinner with mates? Emporium’s Urban Kitchen is now open until 9pm Wednesday to Sunday, serving up tasty eats from all over the globe. Head to lower ground and you can dine late on Old Man Pho, Guljak Topokki & Chicken, Royal Stacks, Thai Social, Saint Dreux and machi machi.

Plus, for a limited time, spend $60 at one of the listed Urban Kitchen eateries and you can enter the running to win a hat from cult fashion label 13De Marzo!

Read on for our edit of the not-to-miss dishes at each eatery.

OLD MAN PHO

For those days when the only thing that can fix you is a piping hot bowl of pho, make Old Man Pho your port of call. This popular spot has a knack for putting a fresh spin on traditional dishes, like Vietnamese Mi Quang Noodle or Beef Stew.

GULJAK TOPOKKI & CHICKEN

The sweet and spicy topokki sauce and rice cakes is a nostalgic Korean favourite, while the reputation of Korean fried chicken (affectionately known as KFC) is as a moreish mealtime treat. At this cosy eatery, you can indulge in a hearty Korean dinner – and share the whole, filmworthy experience on TikTok.

ROYAL STACKS

Redefining the idea of ‘fueling up’ is Royal Stacks, who serve up mouthwatering burgers, tater tots, fries and frozen custard. Their burgers are laden with all the requisite deliciousness, while snackable sides are perfect for sharing between your mates (without falling into a complete food coma after your meal). Keep it simple and go for the Single Stack.

THAI SOCIAL

For a cute date night that’s easy on the wallet too, Thai Social’s selection of flavourful dishes will be a winner – even if your date is decidedly not. Pad kee mao, or drunken noodles, and an ice-cold Singha beer are the perfect match.

SAINT DREUX

A deeply #aesthetic cafe crafted in ode to Japanese coffee culture, Saint Dreux is the ideal spot to meet your bestie after work for a life debrief over iced matcha lattes and katsu sandos. They brew using Bench Coffee Co beans, and the shokupan, or Japanese milk bread, has to be bitten to be believed (because ‘cloud like’ is an understatement).

MACHI MACHI

Taiwan’s purveyor of beloved bubble tea, with an well-earned reputation around its many Australian outposts, delivers on cute and scrumptious. You can pick up a hot or iced drink to go (anything with their cream cheese foam is a fan favourite), plus grab a couple of bottled milk teas for later.
